Varun Sahni, Managing Partner, Impact Investment Partners and his colleagues believe that one of the greatest failures of our society is the criminal justice system. They are using the concept of information to help inmates become more integrated with society both while serving their time and upon release.
Two projects they have up and running are:
A virtual reality room in a prison where inmates can touch the walls and walk on the floor as if they are outdoors. This is to help with psychological and emotional issues caused by being held in a confined environment.
They are keen to work on skills training to better equip inmates for life after release. To achieve this they have produced a documentary from prison which they have then used to build a website. Through this they are able to pull together initiatives and best-practise from around the world and coordinate funding.
